Pehli Si Muhabbat Review
Today's Pehli Si Mohabbat episode was the perfect example of an effective script. Although the confrontation scene was already being previewed for that episode, the fact that Nawaz was there with Faiz Ullah at the time was the main revelation that will set the direction of the story in the coming weeks. Who would have thought that this confrontation would affect the entire track in this way? Sikandar finally showed up tonight and I have to say the timing was perfect! I have to admit that I expected Sikandar to be a "victim", but he holds a grudge and wants revenge! Pehli Si Mohabbat's script continues at its greatest strength as it keeps you updated with its multiple tracks that have been intelligently integrated with one another. There's an element of surprise too, and the writer takes the time to reveal the identities and layers of these characters. These characters are so easy to connect as they are not black and white. All of the performances tonight were convincing, which certainly added to the overall impact of these scenes.
The comparison
The confrontation scene was the most important of the episode, and was well-written and perfectly executed. The writer had a clear intention in mind when she wrote it and made sure that everything about this scene, from the opening dialogue to the last, made an impact. Surprisingly, Akram wasn't the one who started this confrontation; In fact, he did his best to avoid it. He knew they were in the middle of the market, so he didn't want to create a scene. Akram can be pretty unreasonable most of the time, but there are also instances where it only responds when triggered. These older men acted like misguided teenagers because of events in the past. This clash of egos was the main reason Akram eventually spoke to Faiz Ullah about Aslam and Rakhshi's relationship, but he did it in a way that left room for doubt. Faiza Iftikhar wrote these scenes with care, making sure there were no gaps and that there was always a reason behind everything.

Furthermore, this confrontation did not lead to a misunderstanding or a rift between the brothers, as Aslam witnessed everything for himself. It is clear that the author did not add this scene to the story! The writer clearly had a bigger goal when it turned out that Rakhshi loved Akram's brother and Sikandar decided that he would only marry Rakhshi! HSY did exceptionally well in some intense scenes and Shehryar Munawar never disappoints. The director also deserves a lot of credit for making sure all responses were captured with the utmost clarity. The perfect shooting undoubtedly added to the overall impact of this scene.
Zainab's ordealTonight's episode started with the scene of Zainab and Murad, which revealed some more details about Zainab's past. So I wonder how Murad knew every detail of what happened after Zainab's family found out about his relationship. This flashback scene was intense because it once again showed how much Zainab had endured and tried to find a deal by giving Sikandar everything he had ever given her back. The pressures she got married under and the trauma her family went through would have been enough to make her who she is right now. However, the constant mental torture she must have endured in the years after her marriage made her a lifeless soul. She is determined not to react and Murad keeps trying because she wants a reaction from her. It's almost like this man takes sadistic pleasure in reminding Zainab of her past and making her guilty about her past. He probably feels that he has the right to do so since he was forced to marry someone who didn't love him.
I wonder why he wanted to marry her when he knew the truth or found out everything after they got married? The Zainab track sounds simple but offers so much. You want to know more about her past history about her and even if she doesn't respond, you fail because of her pain. I'm glad the "sabr" dialogue was added in the previous episode because it must have made things clearer for those viewers who cannot relate to Zainab's "acceptance" of all the mental torture he has repeatedly subjected. For the first time in that episode, it seemed that Zainab was angry and finding it difficult to control himself. Masroor Paras and Uzma Hassan brilliantly translated their characters on screen. When Murad apologized to Zainab it seemed like he was serious and would never be her abusive husband again, but now that he's reverted to his old self as she is, he's just as convincing. Uzma Hassan played Zainab's Sabr
come to life on the screen without being annoying.
Aslam and RakhshiRakhshi may be completely helpless, but his innocence makes his character likeable rather than annoying. There are scenes where you see Rakhshi as a scared girl who is also sensitive and grew up without a mother. However, while Maya Ali was brilliant in all of the scenes tonight, her makeup looked completely out of place again. She translated Rakhshi's fear flawlessly onto the screen, and she fitted her character well as well. All of her previous scenes of her indicated that she was always reluctant to continue this relationship, but she always gave in because she loved Aslam. Aslam, on the other hand, kept trying to reach her and had nothing against Rakhshi. She continues to be a direct, emotional but not exaggerated character, unless the situation is like that. Despite all her immaturity and sometimes her stupidity, she is a customizable character. I have to say that these main characters have to be the most basic characters in the drama and their story is the simplest of all the tracks so far.
In the midst of the chaos, Nargis got a call from Farooq and that smile on her face was truly meaningful. Will she stay in touch with him? Their conversation has not been shown, but that will also add to the complication of the Nargis track. Farooq is no longer her past of her, he is back and is in contact with her.
Final commentsThis was one of the best episodes of Pehli Si Mohabbat as it not only carried the story forward but also has some surprises in store. With the exception of the phone call scene where the call was dropped shortly after and Maya Ali's noisy makeup, everything else in this episode was executed perfectly. Will Zainab contact Sikandar to prevent him from marrying Rakhshi? What do you think about it?
