This latest installment of Pehli Si Mohabbat focused mostly on Aslam and Rakhshi, with Zainab's song catching on again. This character was brilliantly sculpted; There are so many different shades in their personality and each one leaves an impact. Uzma Hassan fully owns this role; The way he interpreted Zainab's resignation from his fate, but his refusal to accept the same fate for his brother, is overwhelmingly impressive. The type of relationship he has with his brother isn't just one that siblings usually share. They have so much in common and both tried to protect each other as much as they could. The author cleverly combined these two tracks. The flashbacks of Zainab sitting down with Aslam to comfort him were made for one of the best scenes we've seen in this drama so far. Aside from the background soundtrack, which was quite dramatic in the scenes showing Akram's anger, the overall performance was perfect. Shehryar Munawar, Uzma Hassan and Saba Faisal did a wonderful job tonight. Although Rakhshi's character is pretty simple so far, Maya Ali has made sure that all of Rakhshi's emotions are conveyed to the screen in such a way that their ups and downs are easily recognizable. Aslam's ability to recover after every setback makes her character personable.

Aslam had made a decision in the previous episode when speaking to his mamoo and tonight when he was beaten for it he was more than ready for the result. The fact that he danced at his friend's wedding after causing the upheaval proved that Aslam is truly one of a kind! His anger, frustration, and determination created an interesting combination of emotions. Shehryar Munawar was convincing in all of these scenes. Aslam has a pretty unusual way of dealing with even the most serious of situations that I find really interesting! Forgive and forget quickly. Tonight, after everything that had happened, he went to Akram to not only apologize but also to thank him! If he hadn't, Akram wouldn't have shown the flexibility he later showed. It was also nice to see that Akram actually regrets beating his brother. I'm glad he lets the audience guess and his character is not black. He has some flaws and can be deaf at times, but he is not completely emotionless. So the impossible happened tonight when Zainab played a huge role in the whole scenario.

The scene of Zainab and Aslam together was beautiful! They connect on another level that they always have. They're not like their big brother at all, which is why they understand what the other is going through. Uzma Hassan's appearance on the scene where Zainab asked her mother to do something about the situation was intense and effortless. Saba Faisal was just as convincing as her mother, who was unsure which side to take and what to do in this situation.

Meaningful conversations

Like every other episode of Pehli Si Mohabbat, this one had some meaningful conversations. The opening scene has again highlighted the hypocrisy of society. The writer cleverly used Nargis and Faiz Ullah's trail to show society's double standards. The brief conversation between Akram and Ishrat when he asked them who Aslam was in love with was so meaningful! Ishrat may be a minor character in the comedy, but somehow he always caught my attention. His daily life has always been the perfect personification of women and daughters-in-law who lead simple lives. Tonight, his dialogues reflect for the first time the challenges faced by many of these women who have to reconcile disparate relationships and there are so many expectations of them. Nausheen Shah is an extraordinary actress; it is always noticeable.
